Overview




Under general supervision, performs the full array of skilled tasks assigned to the Electrician classification including electrical maintenance, repair and installation; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; performs other related duties as required.




Primary Responsibilities




The Electrician III is the advanced journey level class responsible for a wide variety of electrical maintenance and installation tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Electrical & Facilities Operations Manager in that the latter is responsible for supervision of the work unit. 




Minimum Qualifications




 



  • Must possess two (2) years of advanced journey level full-time work experience in the electrical trade or five (5) years of full-time work experience in semiskilled electrical maintenance and repair

  • Must possess a valid General Electrician certification by the State of California, Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Confined Space Entry Certificate

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Class C driver's license or comparable driver's license from another government entity

Overview




Under general supervision, performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Public Works Maintenance Worker series and operates complex heavy motorized street sweeping equipment as well as heavy construction equipment used in street, water, flood control channels, and sewer maintenance work in the Public Works department; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; occasionally assists in the training of lower level Public Works maintenance positions; performs other related duties as required.




Primary Responsibilities




The Public Works Equipment Operator is the advanced journey level class responsible for a wide variety of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and construction tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next lower classification of Public Works Maintenance Worker II by the operation of heavy equipment and multiple power tools in construction operations




Minimum Qualifications




 



  • At least two (2) years full time work experience consistent with the job duties of a Public Works Maintenance Worker II with at least one (1) year of training in heavy equipment operation

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Possession of a valid Class B California driver’s license with Tanker Endorsement, or equivalent license from another issuing government entity; ability to obtain a valid Class A California driver's license depending on assignment and department needs
