About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer at Lumen Technologies is responsible for providing 24/7 technical support and troubleshooting for critical infrastructure equipment. This role ensures operational integrity and efficiency while reducing operational costs. The engineer will work closely with field operations to maintain core site readiness and provide disaster recovery support, while also training field technicians on preventive maintenance and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier II support to field technicians and field management in stabilizing emergency situations.
  • Responsible for maintaining core site readiness by identifying and documenting deficiencies.
  • Identifies critical infrastructure in need of replacement and works with management to submit for replacement.
  • Participates as a subject matter expert on task forces or cross-functional projects.
  • Provides in-office or onsite disaster recovery support for facilities and critical infrastructure equipment.
  • Assists program managers with maintenance schedules.
  • Ensures critical infrastructure information for BCP program is accurate for sites within AOR.
  • Provides onsite preventive maintenance inspection (PMI) training and technical troubleshooting training to field technicians.
  • Handles capacity management for critical infrastructure within core sites.

Requirements
