Position Description

If this describes you, Aging and Disability Services (ADS) invites you to apply to be part of the Washington Cares Fund or WA Cares team.  


WA Cares is the nation’s first universal long term care insurance program. WA Cares is a state program and ADS as the Area Agency on Aging for King County has a role in launching WA Cares in Seattle-King County.  The WA Cares Human Services Coordinator will provide technical assistance, support and training to agencies and vendors and support the Grants and Contracts team. WA Cares will contract with vendors that provide Long Term Support Services and agencies that will help beneficiaries through the WA Cares journey.


 We are filling two (2) positions. These positions will report to the WA Cares Contracts Supervisor.  A hybrid work schedule is permitted with the requirement to be in the office three days a week.   

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct outreach to recruit Long Term Support Service vendors to contract with the City. Present at fairs, workshops, information sessions, etc. in person and virtually. Develop outreach materials including translated materials, as needed.        
  • Train service providers on contract expectations, program rules and requirements including applicable RCWs and WACs; workflow processes; systems navigation; and web-based platforms.  
  • Provide technical assistance to vendors in contract application process including application submittal, documentation requirements, background checks, signatory requirements, and other applicable business requirements. 
  • Troubleshoot issues with data systems, payment systems, and client management systems.
  • Develop and maintain tracking system to report program outcomes to state funder. 
  • Maintain tracking system for vendor outreach, recruitment, and contracting. Report to internal teams to ensure contract compliance.
  • Assist Grants and Contracts specialists in monitoring contracts.
  • Prepare contracts and renew contracts, as needed.
  • Oversee and monitor systems to ensure contract compliance.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:  


Requires one year of experience in human services administration, service delivery, community organizing, contract administration, or related experience; and a baccalaureate degree in Social Science, Human Service, Business, Public Administration, or related field (or a combination of education, training and experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).


OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties.


Desired Qualifications:  

  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Aging Network Services including Community Living Connections, Caregiver Support, Home Care Services, Home Delivered Meals, etc. 
  • Experience developing, managing and/or monitoring human service contracts or assisting the development, management, and/or monitoring of human service contracts
  • Experience conducting outreach, orientation and/or training to diverse audiences through various platforms
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business tools including Microsoft office (e.g., Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint, etc.) and the ability to learn new software and data systems. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to Race and Social Justice values.

The full hourly range for this opportunity is:  $40.70 - $47.37.
