Job Overview

In this role, you'll be responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists in the preparation of prescriptions and other health-related products. You'll achieve customer satisfaction by promptly processing and filling prescriptions accurately and timely through the data entry of all assigned tasks. As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, you'll refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist and maintain the policies and procedures of our SelectRx Pharmacy Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and process medication orders into the pharmacy operating system
  • Process and enter prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform medication history interviews, food-drug interaction counseling, and process prescriptions following all prescription error prevention procedures
  • Maintain patient records with a strong attention to detail and verify the accuracy of patient and prescription information
  • Refer prescriptions questions to Pharmacist/Supervisor and understand and maintain confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) license required
  • Must be a fully licensed technician in the State of Indiana
  • Ability to read prescriptions, SIG codes, and document information on prescriptions, third-party forms, and communication forms
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the public
