About the Position:
The City of Grand Junction is looking for Police Services Technicians to join the Police Department! This position will perform a variety of routine non-certified law enforcement functions in support of the Police Department; respond to citizen requests and provide information as required; perform various duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. This is a full-time position that requires flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays (etc.) to meet the department's needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Respond to calls for service from the public at the front counter, by phone, or in person; investigate and prepare appropriate reports on criminal, civil, and traffic incidents.
  • Provide administrative support for the department; respond to general inquiries from the public; process service assignments for sworn officers regarding court hearings and appearances; collect and deliver department mail; deliver cases to other locations; assist other agencies in responding to citizen complaints and reports.
  • Assist investigators in crime scene searches; retrieve and preserve evidence for use in court proceedings; provide testimony in court as necessary in support of actions taken and chain of custody of evidence.
  • Patrol within the City to identify and correct municipal ordinance violations; provide information to violators and the general public regarding applicable laws and ordinances.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Ability to work day shift to early evening hours to include a Saturday or Sunday.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
