JOB OBJECTIVE:
 To provide assistance to the Destination Services Department by providing information and assistance to various groups and related events held at Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau facilities, including both indoor and outdoor events, such as mobile visitor information center and pop-up locations around the city.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Provides assistance to the Destination Services Department by providing information and registration assistance to various groups,and related events held at Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau facilities, including both indoor and outdoor events, such as mobile visitor information center and pop-up locations around the city.
  • Provides assistance to visitors and groups by answering questions and providing information regarding the City of Little Rock and area attractions, restaurants, and public services to include various convention center activities and events; maintains current knowledge of Little Rock by reviewing brochures, websites, periodicals, newspapers and attending training.
  • Provides mobile and onsite visitor information support and assistance at various tradeshows, mobile visitor information center, special events and conventions; sets up various equipment to include televisions, portable audio systems, bluetooth systems, and other related electronic equipment as needed.
  • Provides assistance to the Destination Services Specialist by maintaining and organizing brochure racks of visitor literature (i.e. brochures, maps, etc.); orders additional literature supplies when necessary.
  • Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with clients, attendees of events, seminar speakers, and the general public.
  • Operates a computer with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software in the performance of essential job functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities

 

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of one (1) year of college or vocational-technical school in the tourism and hospitality industry or related area, and two (2) years of experience in tourism and hospitality industry. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require one or more of the following pre-employment screenings: drug and alcohol screening, or background investigation.
