About This Opportunity Join us in shaping the future of water treatment at the brand new state-of-the art water Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS) treatment plant. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water to our community. The WWSS WTP is a partnership between Tualatin Valley Water District, City of Hillsboro and Beaverton.

Hillsboro Water will be operating the water treatment plant and raw water facility on behalf of the WWSS. ?Through this partnership, commissioning will begin in 2025, with delivery of potable water by July 1, 2026. We are currently seeking both night shift and maintenance focused Water Treatment Operator(s) to join our team in operating and maintaining the WWSS water treatment plant.

This is a brand-new state-of-the-art facility which includes a ballasted flocculation, ozone, and UV treatment. In this role you will play a critical part in ensuring optimal plant performance, along with successful commissioning and start up activities. Position Overview Water Treatment Plant Operator (Maintenance-Day Shift) As a Water Treatment Plant Operator (maintenance), you will provide technical, operational and maintenance services related to water treatment plant operations, instrumentation, and service delivery.

This position will report to the WWSS WTP located in Sherwood, OR. Successful candidate(s) will be a certified water treatment plant operator with maintenance experience whose day-to-day function will be performing both preventative and reactive maintenance on raw water facility and water treatment plant assets. Water Treatment Plant Operator (Night Shift) As a Water Treatment Plant Operator (Night Shift), you will provide technical, operational and minor maintenance services related to water treatment plant operations, instrumentation, and service delivery.

This position will report to the WWSS WTP located in Sherwood, OR. Night shift operators will initially work the first 4-12 months on day shift until such time 24/7 operations are required. The timing of transition from day to nights is dependent on construction schedule.

The successful candidate(s) will be a certified water treatment plant operator with drinking water treatment plant operating experience whose day-to-day function will be monitoring, controlling, and maintaining plant processes to produce potable water that meets/exceed all federal, state and local requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all water treatment plant assets and raw water facility assets.?The raw water facility is located in Wilsonville. Document all maintenance activities, receipts, invoices within asset management system

Use electronic operations and maintenance system, updating documents and standard operating procedures as required.. Operate water treatment plant processes and equipment, both locally and via SCADA system. Enter and track all activities into Cityworks (Asset management system)

Operate the treatment plant on an as needed basis including operating the solids dewatering system. Collaborative, works well within groups and independently, work with our partner entities, attention to detail. We are passionate about water.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Level 3 and Level 4 Operators perform all the duties listed above and may also lead and support assigned staff. Pay Level and Certifications Pay level is dependent on certification, education and experience.

Please see Training and Experience section below for requirements. The following salary ranges reflect annual earnings based on a 40-hour work week. The Water Treatment Plant Operator (Maintenance) work schedule will be Monday-Friday, day shift, compressed schedule of 9 days /80 hours.

Alternative schedules may be arranged upon approval. The Water Treatment Plant Operator (Night Shift) work schedule will initially be Monday-Friday, day shift, compressed schedule of 9 days /80 hours. Alternative schedules may be arranged upon approval.

In approximately 4-12 months, the night shift operator will transition to night shift. During commissioning and startup activities, night shift schedule is still being determined. Eventual night shift operator schedule will be a 7on/7 off, where you will work 7 nights for a total of 80 hours, then have 7 nights off.
