Job Title: Design Manager
Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Design Manager to lead our design team in capturing user requirements and identifying customer needs, problems, and opportunity areas. As a Design Manager at American Express, you will be responsible for leading iteration on designs based on feedback from users, partners, and usability testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage design operations processes that support the design team.
- Lead and mentor junior members of the design team.
- Provide guidance to designers and other partners regarding design decisions and practices to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Evaluate potential challenges and risks, and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate risk.
- Lead the management of complex or high-profile projects with diverse stakeholders.
Requirements:
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Information, or a related field, and 2 years of experience with analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve user experiences. Experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: improving readability, utility, and overall user experience; developing prototypes, mockups, wireframes, and style guides based on requirements; reviewing prototypes and mockups and providing design feedback in HTML and CSS; creating motion graphics, and micro-interaction prototypes; and Adobe CC, AfterEffects, Axure RP, InVision for clickable prototypes, JIRA, Microsoft tools, OmniGraffle, and Sketch.
