Operation Specialist

$62,158.00 - $96,547.00

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of a Operation Specialist (Operation Support Specialist). This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Management and Administration (OMA), Logistics and Support Services. The incumbent is responsible for providing a variety of support services for the OCFO such as logistics, property management, supply management, transportation, facilities and equipment maintenance.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching sources of products or services to ensure that the OCFO obtains the best value.
  • Researching various brands and models of equipment to consider factors such as the relative advantages of lease versus purchase, cost of the equipment, supplies and maintenance, and ease of operation.
  • Preparing cost-benefit analyses to project long-range supply, furniture, equipment, and other organizational needs.
  • Providing administrative and operational support.
  • Maintaining calendars; issuing building access and security equipment; developing and maintaining databases for tracking.
  • Coordinating services for special events; monitoring contractor tasks for office renovations; ensuring the timely flow of accounting documents.
  • Preparing reports to support efficient operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of progressive work experience performing support service duties related to operations such as logistics, property management, printing, supply chain or inventory management, mail processing, and transportation services; experience researching and preparing reports; and operating a personal computer and/or calculator. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to include knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation to compose and proofread documents.

All applicants must be flexible with worksite location as the position will rotate to various sites throughout the District. The location schedules are Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 4:45pm and some weekends. This position is not eligible for telework or alternate work schedule (AWS).
